What type of home owners insurance do I need?
Homeowners should have HO6 insurance as well as GAP insurance for $5,000 to cover the cost of the deductible for each unit.
What does our HOA insurance cover?
Our insurance cover rebuilding to the condition at which the condominium was originally built. Any improvements that have been done since original build would be covered by the home owners insurance policy.
Improvements such as ceramic floors, hardwood floors, spanish tiles, any types of appliances such as stainless steel, and upgraded cabinets that were replaced from original contractor grades are NOT covered under HOA insurance. These types of items would be covered under your own home owners insurance.
